Rock Your TV Wall: Break Free From That Boring Paint

Do you play the guitar? Well, here you have one more reason to try it out:

This is a win-win solution for us.

Over the quarantine my kids started playing the guitar. The guitars were always on the sofa, or worse, on the floor, about to be kicked around.

Why don't hang them? They will be conveniently at hand to play and will do for an amazing decor item.

You need to see this wall before the design (yes, this is only a design idea, although I have already hanged the guitars)

Kind of just-moved-emptyness.

How to decorate a TV wall?

#1 Decide on the wall color

You can use either a dark paint color, which will help blend the TV on the background, or a neutral wall shade (as white or taupe) for a modern look.

#2 TV Height

If you choose to mount the TV, "you want the center of the TV to be about eye level, or even slightly lower," as CNet recommends.

Placing the TV over a fireplace will be usually too high, but sometimes, depending on the layout of the room, it might be the only option. The good part is, this will simplify the furniture arrangement, by orienting furniture to these two focal points- the TV and fireplace (if you're interested in how to lay out furniture in your space, check out my related article on furniture layout).

Also, consider mounting the TV 4 to 8 inches above the piece of furniture below it.

#3 Gallery Wall

Decorating around the TV will help to blend that black big screen into the wall. Here I will share the three extra designs I came up with for my space, that can be used in any small living room or playroom.

Option #2: Still a rocker, yet with the neutral wall color, feels like it belongs in the house.

Option #3: Abstract art replaces rock bands. Might be, but not sure about it.

Option #4: Same pieces but with more personality with the moody paint. I think this is the winner!
