Kids’ Desk Makeover

Before and After in pictures

Note for the reward

I refinished this desk in the middle of my kitchen.

With homemade chalk paint, an old curtain for the cushion, and yarn leftover that I had at home. While my husband was on a two-week business trip. And watching 3 kids by myself! (ps: that's probably why I didn't take pictures of the process)

Painting with chalk paint

There are many tutorials on how to paint with chalk paint, and actually, it doesn't need much tutorial, since it is super easy!

  • you paint directly over your piece, no need to sand it before, it will adhere!

  • you can seal it, using clear wax or -you won't read this in other blogs- with any polycrylic protective finish clear/satin water-based (so it won't turn yellow!) The polycrylic is much stronger, and so much easy to apply!

  • you can distress it or don't, with sandpaper, as much as you like it.

Easy as one, two, three!

Hope you enjoyed this super quick guide, just follow your instinct. Don't stick to one tutorial.

And reach out if you have any questions! I'd be happy to help!
